Week 4 Verdict: 31.2 km total, including the toughest run of the entire training cycle. Week 5 Verdict: A strategic rest week with 25.4 km total, culminating in the half-marathon itself.
The Run That Defined Week 4
On July 5th, I tackled 18 km over the Arai Hills. The route was brutal—3 km up, 3 km down, then repeat. My right knee was screaming, but I pushed through. Looking back, this was the moment I knew I was ready for race day.
The silver lining? The weather was incredible—lush greenery everywhere and a light rain that made the suffering almost enjoyable.

Little did I know, the actual half-marathon course would feature similar climbs and descents. Surprise!
Week 5 & Race Day - July 13th, 2025
The day we’d been training for finally arrived. The first 17 km felt smooth despite the tough inclines. Then my right knee started protesting. I shifted gears—slowed to a walk-run pace, chatted with fellow runners, and soaked in the experience.
Did I finish? Absolutely. Could I have done better? Definitely. Yash, Sarthak and Soham crossed the line ahead of me, but we all made it. And here’s the proof:
